December Super Full Moon Rising

This week’s full moon is known as a Super moon because it is bigger and brighter than usual.  The December moon is called “The Cold Moon”. Winter takes a firm hold and temperatures plummet. Sometimes this moon is also called the “Long Night Moon” as the winter nights get longer and the moon spends more time above the horizon opposite a low sun. The full moon name often used by Christian settlers is the “Moon before Yule”.

The Super moon this month is expected to be as much as 13% bigger than when the full moon is at its smallest and furthest away from the planet.  It will also be at its closest point to our planet as it orbits Earth.

The moon has an emotional effect on many people. For the next few days be kind to people, since they may be a little of of their game. Be kind to yourself, and do some activities that make you feel better.

The evening  of the Full Moon is December 12. Know as 12/12. The vibration of 12/12 takes us back to the foundation or beginning of something.  The goal is to keep an open mind  about things that have mystified or eluded us. If you are open we  can shown alternatives or new ways of doing being.  Things are revisited or “re-addressed,”  and revealed.

Announcing the Colors of 2016

PANTONE 13-1520 & PANTONE 15-3919

A softer take on color for 2016: For the first time, the blending of two shades – Rose Quartz and Serenity are chosen as the PANTONE Color of the Year

As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent. Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.

The prevalent combination of Rose Quartz and Serenity also challenges traditional perceptions of color association.

In many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends throughout all other areas of design. This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity, the consumer’s increased comfort with using color as a form of expression, a generation that has less concern about being typecast or judged and an open exchange of digital information that has opened our eyes to different approaches to color usage.

Whether in soft or hard surface material, the pairing of Rose Quartz and Serenity brings calm and relaxation. Appealing in all finishes, matte, metallic and glossy, the engaging combo joins easily with other mid-tones including greens and purples, rich browns, and all shades of yellow and pink. Add in silver or hot brights for more splash and sparkle.

Day Eleven of Mercury Retrograde

As we become familiar with the everyday items of life, we can become ignorant of their value. We have faith they will always be where we left them, and assume they will always be the same.

We take for granted, and underestimate the value that the everyday things in our life bring to us. Mother Nature reminds us change is part of our human path. She reminds us what was once predictable, can become the unknown. The experience we had last time may not be duplicated, and faith must sometimes be tested.

Learn to appreciate the worthiness of ordinary things. The delicate scent of a flower, the coolness of a sip of water, and the feeling of the noon sun on your face. You never know when it could disappear.

Day Four of Mercury Retrograde

We are in day four of Mercury Retrograde, and people are staring to really feel the energy. Most people complain about this  time period. The informed mind knows it is an amazing time!

Mercury Retrograde is a wonderful opportunity to work with Mother Nature and her cycles.  It is a good time to take a slow deep breath and put your life back into perspective.  When you take a time out from the usual daily grind, you create space for a transformational opportunity.  This is a great time to acknowledge something is no longer working, or useful so can be released.  Consider the fact that there is a retrograde three and sometimes four times a year, which allows you to clean up your mess, and start life anew. As Mother Nature intended.

There is also a “Flip Side“ to Mercury Retrograde: such as, adopted children finding their birth parents, old friends show up out of the blue, mail that has been lost for decades, returns to circulation, attorneys find evidence and clues which have been overlooked in important cases, more “Cold Cases” have been revisited and solved during Mercury Retrograde. This goes to show retrogrades are not all bad, and you don’t need to fear them.  This is your opportunity to truly transform situations, and create a better life.Try not to take things so serious during this time frame.  There are many things out of your control.  “Just go with the flow”
